The Holiday Inn Express Hotel Suites Los Angeles Downtown West is a nice inn that was renovated in 2011. The breakfast is inclusive and very rich by American standards. There are scrambled eggs, ham, different toast, different pastries, fresh pancakes, etc. really great. The room is large with plenty of storage space, large and comfortable beds. Air conditioning seemed somehow older than 2011, but it cooled pretty well. The small pool (if you can say that at the size, at all) was just under construction. The location is not so dirty, i was afraid to go out alone in the evening and the surroundings are were kinda ugly. We chose this hotel because we did not want to drive to Hollywood. So we searched for a hotel near the metro. This was about 5 minutes away from the hotel and you can get a ticket at the machine for 6 (including basic fee for the card) for public transport. With the metro we were there in about 15-20 minutes at the Chines Theater. After we had looked at everything, we went to El Puoblo, where we also could go. Therefore, hotel is really great. Underground parking also available. Unfortunately, internet did not work. The nice staff at the front desk helped us every time we needed their assistance.
